Cabrera Bashes 5 Base Hits
|
It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Bill Cabrera today. Cabrera went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Lexington pitchers. When the dust settled on the diamond at Fifth Third Ballpark, he had a 5-for-7 line and a day he will long remember. And the West Michigan Whitecaps had a 26-0 victory over the Legends.
"Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview.
Bill Cabrera flied out in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 2nd, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, struck out in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Allen Crenshaw in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
This year Cabrera is batting .248 with 36 home runs and 101 RBIs. In 127 games he has scored 75 times.
