California Decked by Christie, White Sox
|
The losses keep piling up for the California Angels.
The Chicago White Sox topped the California Angels, 9-2, in American League action at U.S. Cellular Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Chicago designated hitter Jack Christie. Felix Bernal, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 3 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 12. His record now stands at 7-0.
Christie contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Chicago in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Christie took a fastball from Danny White and stroked the home run to right. His 8th home run of the season allowed the White Sox to leap in front, 3-1.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said California skipper Dakota Wise.
The White Sox keep rolling, raising their record to 25-5.
