5-Hit Blitz by University of Nebraska's Zuniga
|
The California State University at Fullerton Titans couldn't stop Jose Zuniga today, but they stopped the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers, 11-3. Zuniga went 5-for-5 in the game at Haymarket Park, but his team still came out on the wrong end of the score.
"I feel bad for Jose -- that's not how any of us wanted things to turn out," said University of Nebraska manager Billy Vopinek. "The Titans were on their game today."
Jose Zuniga doubled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Antonio Velazquez in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Kyle Meade in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
So far this season Zuniga has gotten 52 hits in 182 at-bats for a .286 batting average with 10 home runs. His stats include 33 RBIs and 27 runs scored. He has played in 52 games.
