Mariners Need Extra Frames to Get Past Athletics
|
The Seattle Mariners did just enough to sneak past the Oakland Athletics, 5-4, at Safeco Field. Seattle pitcher Larry Tuckfard, in particular, had a standout performance. Seattle reliever David Anaya picked up the win to move to 2-0. Kyle Ehret suffered the loss. Seattle is now riding a 3-game win streak.
The Mariners relied on right fielder Dae-ik Yoon for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the tenth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
"Our team showed some resilience," said Yoon.
