Super Swinger -- Tellez Slams 6 Hits
|
It seemed that Chicago (NYP) right fielder Angel Tellez could do no wrong as the White Sox KO'd the ValleyCats, 23-2 today. Tellez rapped out 6 hits in 7 at-bats and seemed to know which pitches ValleyCats hurlers were throwing.
"I think the White Sox were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Tri-City fan after the game.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Tellez in the postgame press interview.
Angel Tellez hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Chris Miles in the 2nd, struck out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Arsène Serre in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Arsène Serre in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
In 20 games this year Tellez has posted a .320 average and put up these numbers: 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
