Nick Ameen was at the head of a Lowell hit parade today at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. The third baseman went to the plate 7 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Spinners to a 29-2 victory over the Tri-City ValleyCats.

"I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Ameen told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today."

ValleyCats skipper Bryant Crocker said later that the club gave up "too much plate."

"Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."

Nick Ameen hit a two-run double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, grounded out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 6th and doubled in the 9th.

This season Ameen has hit at a .462 clip and produced 12 runs batted in, no home runs and 11 runs.
