Big Day with Bat: Gerrity 5-for-7
|
A jubilant Kenny Gerrity joined the postgame press conference at Everett Memorial Stadium today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Idaho Falls Chukars pitching staff he had just vanquished.
"It may not have looked like it," said the Everett AquaSox left fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."
That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-7 hitting performance, which led the AquaSox to a 31-0 win.
"He made it look easy," said , manager of the Chukars. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."
Kenny Gerrity doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
This season Gerrity has hit at a .313 clip with 7 RBIs, 1 home runs and 24 runs scored.
