Phillies Bridle Braves, 3-1
|
The Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves completed their game despite the rain.
The Philadelphia Phillies picked up a win at Citizens Bank Park, knocking off the Atlanta Braves, 3-1. Starting pitcher Scott Bernstein played a key role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Bernstein, now 3-4. He tossed 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 6 and fanning 5. Randy Karnes was credited with the save for Philadelphia, his 7th of the season.
Ji-an Li, who finished 3rd in the NL in stolen bases with 42 in 2036, contributed to the Philadelphia win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the left fielder had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Bernstein.
The Phillies improve their record to 21-24 with the win over Atlanta.
