Pirates Lose to Diamondbacks in Walk Off
Getting a good performance from center fielder Roy Steigerwald, the Arizona Diamondbacks defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates, 4-3. Steigerwald was 2-3 with a home run and a walk for the Diamondbacks. Arizona pitcher André Gaillard got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Steve Grier got the loss. With the win, Arizona raised its record to 27-24.

A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 3rd and two out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter Billy Crookston reached on an error by the SS, driving in 1 run. The Diamondbacks went on to win.

Crookston attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
