Pirates Win, Now 30-26
|
AT&T Park was the site of a tense game between the San Francisco Giants and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Pittsburgh starter Sam Richardson pitched well against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Richardson picked up the win for Pittsburgh, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 6-4. Steve Grier converted his 15th save in 15 tries.
The result might have been different, had it not been for Raul Mendoza, the Pittsburgh designated hitter. Mendoza had a run-scoring double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pirates ahead, 3-0. For the game, Mendoza had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Richardson.
With the win, Pittsburgh raised its record to 30-26.
