Cubs Beat Visiting Brewers, 5-3
|
Elijah Campbell was a major factor in the 5-3 Chicago win over Milwaukee. The Cubs shortstop went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Cubs have an impressive 40-17 record.
Campbell contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Chicago in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 3-1, Campbell took a forkball from John York and stroked the home run to left-center. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Cubs to leap in front, 5-3.
In postgame comments to the Chicago Observer, Campbell said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
