ValleyCats Torpedoed by Nunez in 12-0 Loss to Lowell
|
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Tri-City ValleyCats as starter Efrain Nunez shut out the Tri-City ValleyCats 12-0 at Edward A. LeLacheur Park. The Lowell pitcher struck out 10 and walked 1 while allowing 2 hits.
"Nunez was good but he wasn't flawless," Tri-City manager Bryant Crocker said later. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Lowell, but this is on us."
In 20 starts this season, Nunez has recorded 9 wins and absorbed 7 losses. He has pitched 111 innings, allowed 116 hits, struck out 90 and has a 4.70 ERA.
