Nunez Raps Idaho Falls for 5 Hits
|
No matter what the Idaho Falls Chukars threw at him today, Jose Nunez hit it. He easily handled Chukars pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Twins to a 25-9 triumph at Baseball City Complex.
"The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.
Told of Nunez's quip, Chukars skipper said he "would take him up on that next time."
Jose Nunez walked in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Chris Shoemaker in the 3rd, hit a three-run double in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 5th and hit a three-run home run off Joe Cozart in the 6th.
So far on the season Nunez is hitting .382 with 9 home runs, 74 RBIs and 49 runs scored. He has 102 hits and played in 83 games.
