David Best exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium.

The Aberdeen right fielder had a field day in the 17-5 triumph over the Connecticut Tigers, finishing 5-for-6.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Best must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. David Best hit an RBI double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

Best is swinging at a .295 pace on the year with 16 home runs, 72 RBIs and 82 runs scored. He has played in 116 games.
