Astros Bridle Athletics, 2-1
|
Houston picked up a win at O.co Coliseum, bumping off the Oakland Athletics, 2-1. Pitcher Chris Perretta was a major reason the Astros emerged victorious. Brian Thomas got credit for the save for Houston. It was his 16th of the year. The Astros sport a record of 22-38.
It could have been a different outcome for Houston, had it not been for Trevor Mock, the fan favorite . Mock contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put Houston up, 1-0.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Perretta.
