Cubs Top Braves, 5-0, Behind Wakamatsu
|
The Chicago Cubs got a strong performance from pitcher Unkei Wakamatsu, who stymied the Atlanta offense en route to a win, 5-0, at Wrigley Field. The first-place Cubs have won 5 consecutive games.
Wakamatsu earned the win to move to 9-2. In his 8-inning performance, he scattered 3 hits, striking out 6 and walking 2. The left-hander allowed the Braves few scoring opportunities.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Wakamatsu after the game.
