Athletics Deal Angels 6-0 Defeat
|
The Oakland Athletics topped the California Angels, 6-0, in American League action at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The game was highlighted by the performance of Oakland pitcher Sean Hill. In 7.1 innings, Hill surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Oakland, with the win, climbs to 23-44.
Oakland needed the clutch hitting of Nate Dean to notch the win. The second baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Athletics on top, 4-0. For the game, Dean had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was our day today," Hill told the Oakland Times. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
