Yankees Stay Hot, Beat Nationals, 3-2
|
The New York Yankees did just enough to sneak past the Washington Nationals, 3-2, at Nationals Park. New York pitcher John Brice, in particular, had a standout performance. Brice picked up the win for New York, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 8-4. Robert Cruz notched his 18th save in 19 chances.
David Bramble, who is tied for 10th in the AL in doubles with 17, aided the New York cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder was 1-4 with a double.
"It feels good, just a great win all around," Brice said after the game.
New York has now won 7 games in a row.
