Mariners Edge Tigers, 4-3
|
Starting pitcher Larry Tuckfard pitched well enough to help the Seattle Mariners beat the Detroit Tigers, 4-3. The Mariners have an impressive 55-25 record.
It could have been a different outcome for Seattle, had it not been for John Zumbo, the four-time All-Star . Zumbo contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Seattle up, 1-0.
Detroit manager Colin Lancey said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
