Rangers on to World Series
|
The Texas Rangers are bound for the World Series.
A 3-2 win over the Chicago White Sox at Globe Life Park in Arlington ended the League Championship Series, 4-1.
"We're not trying to get ahead of ourselves, but it's hard not to get pumped up and excited and think about how this season could end," said John Giesbrecht. "This could be the biggest celebration Texas has ever seen if we can win the World Series."
The state of the Major League Baseball championship remains in doubt, but the Rangers certainly appear to be strong contenders.
Giesbrecht was named MVP of the League Championship Series after he posted a .412 batting average, while adding 3 home runs, driving in 4 RBI and scoring 4 runs.
The Texas Rangers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the New York Mets - Washington Nationals series. Washington leads the series 3 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
