Deakyne Stars in 13-9 Angels Win
|
California first baseman Preston Deakyne had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Minnesota Twins, 13-9. The victory puts California at 34-51.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop Javier Trujillo came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Minnesota pitcher Freddie Trainor, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting California on top, 9-8.
"This game had a little bit of everything," said Deakyne.
