Almost There: Washington On Cusp of R3 Triumph After 10-4 Win
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of left fielder R.J. O'Brien, the Washington Nationals got a road win against the New York Mets, 10-4, in Game 4 of the League Championship Series today. O'Brien went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs for the Nationals, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 1.
Washington used the bat of John Sanders to capture the win. The second baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Nationals ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"I just tried to make good contact," said O'Brien.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Citi Field in New York.
