Orioles Win 4-2 Walk-Off
|
Baltimore beat Philadelphia on the strength of starter Bobby O'Connell's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-2. Errol Dondale, now 4-4, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The Phillies, at 37-47, have lost 5 in a row.
Jesus Luque was the walk-off hero for Baltimore. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Orioles catcher hit a dramatic 2-run home run to send the teams home.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Baltimore manager Jim White.
