Expos, Jackson Silence Washington, 7-0
|
In an outstanding mound performance, Montreal Expos starter Jonathan Jackson fired a complete-game shutout against the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park today.
Jackson was the key to the Expos's 7-0 win. The 32-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 3 hits and 1 walk he allowed.
"3 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."
For this year Jackson has chalked up 7 wins and 7 losses in 18 starts with 104 strikeouts in 127 innings and a 3.19 ERA.
