Indians Need Extra Innings to Top Expos, 4-3
|
The Montreal Expos got a sterling performance from pitcher James Fisher, but the Cleveland Indians still prevailed, 4-3. Fisher threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The Indians raised their record to 31-57.
Cleveland won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With two outs and Jeff Urry on the mound for Montreal, third baseman Merrick Geter hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Indians fans to their feet.
"Put a star next to this win," Geter said.
