Padres Best Reds in Pitching Duel
|
The San Diego Padres eked out a 2-1 win versus the Cincinnati Reds at Petco Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Adam Thompson. He was terrific. Klaus Qvist converted his 3rd save in 3 tries. With the win, San Diego upped its record to 60-33.
In the bottom of the seventh, San Diego center fielder Andy Bowman hit a run-scoring single to right field. The clutch hit made it, 2-1, Padres.
"We've got a great group of guys," Bowman said, "and we're having fun right now."
