Giants Clip Phillies, 4-3
|
The Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants provided some drama for the home crowd.
San Francisco pitcher Curt Howland did his part in helping his team beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The current losing streak for Philadelphia has reached 7 games.
Ryan Doss, the 2041 Rookie of the Year Award winner , had a direct impact on the outcome. Doss contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the ninth inning to put San Francisco up, 4-3.
"Curt just went about his business, throwing strikes," said San Francisco manager Jobo Foster.
