Rangers Mow Down Twins, 9-4
With third baseman Edwin Madrid leading the charge, the Texas Rangers defeated the Minnesota Twins, 9-4, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Madrid, who finished 4th in the NL in doubles with 40 in 2039, was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Lu-shan Zhào was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities. The win puts Texas at 68-34 this season.

Madrid contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Texas in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 2-1, Madrid took a fastball from Adam Wood and stroked the home run to center. His 18th home run of the season allowed the Rangers to leap in front, 4-2.

"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Madrid told the Texas Citizen.
