Yankees Pick Up 7-4 Win
|
The New York Yankees topped the Toronto Blue Jays by the score of 7-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder David Bramble. Bramble went 2 for 4 with a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Yankees on the day. Kyle Johnson, the winner, goes to 10-1. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts over 7.1 innings. The victory gives New York a record of 58-49.
Bartholomeu Chambino, who finished 2nd in the AL in OPS with 1.106 last year, aided the New York cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Bramble told the New York Times.
