A 5-RBI performance from the 30-year old first baseman Johnny Diaz helped the New York Mets beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 8-0. New York raised its record to 69-41 with the win.
Sean Cook, the New York right fielder, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 1-0, Mets. For the game, Cook went 1-3 with 2 walks.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Cook said after the game.
