Giants Deal Marlins 7-2 Setback
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants get after it.
Behind the hitting of Itsuo Egami, the San Francisco Giants stopped the Miami Marlins, 7-2. Egami was 3-4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs for the Giants. Ricky Rodriguez was the winner. Over 5 innings, he allowed 1 run on 4 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
With San Francisco leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Egami hit a fastball from Travis Small for a 2-run double. It was his 2nd double of the season and put the Giants ahead, 5-1.
Egami described the clubhouse as "strangely calm" after the game.
The win lifted the San Francisco record to 64-51.
