Blue Jays Top Expos, 3-1, Behind Rios
|
In a low-scoring game between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Montreal Expos, pitcher Tony Rios was masterful on the mound. The Toronto right-hander spearheaded his team's 3-1 win. The win elevated the Blue Jays to 66-63.
Rios ran roughshod over the Montreal lineup. The right-hander allowed just 1 hit over 8 innings, while striking out 6. With the victory, he goes to 9-12 on the season.
"Tony was throwing free and easy," said Toronto manager Nersha Bainco.
