Getting an impressive start from Ayaz bin Jalal, Philadelphia beat Toronto by the score of 4-1. Randy Karnes notched his 23rd save in 29 chances. Philadelphia is now 55-78. Toronto is 69-64.
Philadelphia took a 4-1 lead on Eric Katz's 19th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Toronto pitcher Stacy Hootentootin in the bottom of the eighth.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Katz.
