Brewers Lose Again, 9-5, to Phillies
|
The Philadelphia Phillies knocked off the Milwaukee Brewers, 9-5, at Citizens Bank Park. Alberto Figueroa was a big reason Philadelphia won. The right fielder was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Julian Bush, the winner, goes to 7-4. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts over 5.2 innings. Randy Karnes notched his 24th save in 30 chances.
With no one out in the top of the seventh, Daniel Donovan had a chance to do some damage. Milwaukee was trailing 5-2, but had runners on 2nd and 3rd. Donovan came to the plate against Steve Pratt, and grounded out, driving in 1 run. But it was not enough to complete a Milwaukee comeback.
The last-place Brewers have lost 6 consecutive games.
