Starting pitcher Francisco Rivas pitched well enough to help the New York Yankees beat the Cleveland Indians, 4-3. Dave Barry picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-3. Alberto Pickett was tagged with the loss. The win elevated the Yankees to 76-59.

Geni Prawiranega, the top prospect , had a direct impact on the outcome. Prawiranega contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put New York up, 4-3.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Prawiranega.
