12-5 Loss to Rangers Extends Oakland Losing Streak
|
Texas shortstop Vince Ealy had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Oakland Athletics, 12-5. Picking up the win was Pimbly Nimblebottom. He went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. The right--hander struck out 4 and walked 2. Troy Baker was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 6 save opportunities.
Texas used a well-timed hit by Cody Schumacher to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Rangers ahead, 4-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Texas manager Juan Smith.
The Athletics, at 53-84, have lost 6 in a row.
