The New York Yankees downed the Houston Astros, 7-6, at Minute Maid Park. C.J. Richerson led the way, going 2-for-4 for New York. New York reliever Jose Tavira picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Mat Pear was saddled with the loss. Robert Cruz earned his 36th save in 40 chances.

New York needed the clutch hitting of Bartholomeu Chambino to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Yankees on top, 7-6. For the game, Chambino had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Richerson after the game.

New York improves to 79-60 with the win. They lead their division by 5½ games.
