The winning streak continued for Seattle.
The Seattle Mariners defeated the California Angels, 9-6, in American League action at Safeco Field. Floyd-William Goof pulled his weight. The 10-year veteran went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Seattle pitcher David Sly got the win, upping his record to 3-4. Danny White got the loss.
Corey Ottinger chipped in for Seattle, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the third baseman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Ottinger said. "We did a good job of that today."
The second-place Mariners have won 10 in a row.
