Giants Win, 6-3, at Oakland
|
The San Francisco Giants beat the Oakland Athletics, 6-3, at O.co Coliseum. The win was due in part to catcher Kanehisa Kubo, who went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Micah Teller converted his 14th save in 16 tries. The victory gives San Francisco a record of 87-61.
San Francisco used a well-timed hit by John Blair to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the third inning to put the Giants ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Kubo. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
