Starting pitcher Javy Falcon did his part in helping the Texas Rangers thwart the Houston Astros, 3-1. Falcon went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 20-1. Brad Kramer notched his 38th save in 42 chances.
In the bottom of the second, Edwin Madrid hit a 2-run double. The 23rd double of the season for the Texas third baseman put the Rangers on top, 2-0.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Falcon.
The first-place Rangers, at 102-47, now lead their division by 9 games.
