Woods Jr. Now 20-7 After Subduing Red Sox

New York Yankees starter James Woods Jr. pitched his team past the Boston Red Sox, 3-0. Robert Cruz got the save, his 39th in 43 chances. The victory gives New York a record of 84-67.
Woods Jr., a native of Vernal, Utah, was dealing all game. He kept Boston hitters off-balance, while giving the Yankees 8 quality innings. Woods Jr. threw 105 pitches, allowing 5 hits and striking out 5.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" New York manager Carl Arnold said.
