Blue Jays Fall Short, 6-5, at California
|
The California Angels and Toronto Blue Jays obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.
The California Angels beat the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-5, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. California shortstop Javier Trujillo had an outstanding performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Jakub Kvacek got credit for the win, improving to 7-2. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings.
Had Preston Deakyne not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Deakyne hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Angels.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Deakyne.
The Angels go to 59-92 with the win.
