Dodgers Get One-Run Win at San Francisco
|
San Francisco shortstop Jim Zucco was sensational. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Los Angeles beat the Giants, 5-4. Chut-sai Teoh sewed up the save, his 5th. The win puts Los Angeles at 14-9.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Bob Branham? The Los Angeles first baseman had a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put the Dodgers on top, 2-0. For the game, Branham had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Branham. "And not try to do too much."
