Lewis Garners NL #1 Pitcher Award Friday, July 1st , 2044 Brock Lewis hated to see June turn to July. And who could blame him? The 21-year-old hurler piled up 5 wins and no losses for the Cubs last month and won the National League Pitcher of the Month award for his efforts. Lewis stymied opposing batters on 25 base hits and a .212 batting average. He rang up 17 strikeouts in 32.2 innings of work, surrendered 10 walks and fashioned a sparkling 2.76 ERA. For this year Lewis has chalked up 7 wins and 3 losses in 8 starts with 57 strikeouts in 74.1 innings and a 2.78 ERA. |
