20 Games in a Row for Strijbis
Tuesday, August 16th , 2044
Chalk up another one for Colorado Springs Sky Sox second baseman Kennet Strijbis. He now has hit in 20 straight games. Strijbis went 2-for-5 today's game at Southwest University park but saw his club defeated 7-5 by the host El Paso Chihuahuas.
"Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Sky Sox manager Tom J. Murphy said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." Kennet Strijbis flied out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
So far on the season Strijbis is hitting .272 with 8 home runs, 42 RBIs and 60 runs scored. He has 116 hits and played in 101 games.
