Smack hit for a .292 average while collecting 153 hits, 29 doubles, 6 triples, 19 home runs, 72 RBIs and scoring 111 times.

He received 24 first place votes out of a possible 30. Warren Eisner of the Reno Aces finished second in voting with 6 first place votes, while Luis Revilla of the Gwinnett Braves finished third.
