Season Ends for Arends Monday, September 5th , 2044 Fred Arends had hoped for the best, but expected the worst. Today, he learned from the San Jose medical staff that he would miss the rest of the season. The San Jose left fielder suffered a fractured ankle in an earlier ballgame. He admitted to being discouraged, but said he plans to come back strong next year. In 28 games Arends is hitting .253 this season with 25 hits, 5 home runs, 19 RBIs, 13 walks, .345 OBP and has scored 18 runs. |
