Patterson Batters Tennessee Big Time
Tuesday, September 20th , 2044
The Colorado (EL) Rockies stopped the Tennessee Smokies by a score of 21-6 at Colorado Rockies Complex today, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Jayden Patterson. The 33-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Patterson said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Patterson did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Smokies.
"Not much that I can say," offered Tennessee manager Steven Duggar. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Jayden Patterson singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Heef Harted in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, walked in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th.
To date Patterson has chalked up a .287 average with 14 home runs, driven in 60 runs and scored 40 times.
