The future looks extremely bright for Tim Nettles. At the age of 26, many players are still trying to find their way in Eastern League.

Nettles has not only found his way, he's already established himself as one of the game's brightest stars, today being named the winner of the National League Most Valuable Player Award.

"I didn't expect to hit .317 this year, that's for sure," the center fielder said.

The Mississippi Braves star also put up a .432 on-base percentage this year, with 159 hits, 31 doubles, 2 triples, 24 home runs, 73 RBIs and 127 runs scored.

He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jon Munoz of the Colorado (EL) Rockies finished second in voting, while Max Schellekens of the Colorado (EL) Rockies finished third.
