Saturday, January 30th , 2044
Stockton left fielder Chance Stever led the Ports to a 11-4 triumph over the Richmond Flying Squirrels, crushing three home runs.
"He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said Stockton skipper Esteban Gonzalez.
Indeed, Stever put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 3 runs and 5 RBIs.
"I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Stever said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em."
Chance Stever doubled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Mike Richards in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Mike Richards in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off John Bittinger in the 8th.
For the season Stever is currently batting .261 with 9 home runs and 28 RBIs. In 45 games he has reached base at a .344 rate and scored 31 runs to date.
